Nausheen Sheikh Store Launched

On Monday, November 17, the Nausheen Sheikh shopping store was launched with Calligraphy, plates and tiles available for sale. For the first time, Nausheen's classic, collectible,and hand-painted works are now available online.

The store, available on http://store.nausheensheikh.com features some of Nausheen's one-off hand painted items, including the Prussian Peacock Tile and the Rumi Shield Plate. Visit the store today own one of the upcoming artist's timeless pieces.

Nausheen's Painting to go on Flyer

For the second time, the Islam Expo (to be held in Olympia, London from 11-14 July, 2008) will use the work of Nausheen Sheikh to enhance their marketing and credibility in the London area. This year, Nausheen's Bismillah Calligraphy is featured on an Islam Expo Flyer.

Last year, Islam Expo used a full size banner of Nausheen's Lustred Ottoman Penc.

This year, Islam Expo has used an image of Nausheen's famous Bismillah Calligraphy, with an illuminous background and Bismillah Ar Rehman Ar Raheem written in Gold.

Nausheen to work with Christie's

Nausheen will be working with the textile department at Christie's South Kensington, London in connection with the Indian & Islamic Works of Art & Textiles Auction to be held on the 11th of April, 2008.

After her extensive expierience with design & art work, Nausheen will work with Christie's to get exposure to the vast industry of art auctions. It's a stepping stone in the career of the artist, who is putting together an exquisite, traditional body of work for her own exhibition in the near future.

An Exhibition of Flatweaves

Starting April 9th, Nausheen will work with Joss Graham at the Exhibition of Flatweaves to conduct two different introductory weaving classes at the gallery in Victoria, London. Booking is available and seating is strictly limited, so please call the gallery to reserve.

The exhibition will focus on Kilims and dhurries from Central Asia, Iran, North Africa and India, and will run from 9th April to 31st May, 2008.

The two workshops are scheduled for Saturdays the 12th and 18th of April, 2008, and run oly GBP 75 per person, which incudes lunch, refreshments and all the materials required to complete the workshop.

For Art's Sake - Commercial Interior Design

Nausheen was featured in the August, 2007 issue of Commerical Interior Design Magazine. The issue focuses on public spaces and areas in commercial projects. The relevant article titled "For Art's Sake" talk about the impact of Art in public spaces. The article features pictures of Nausheen's work and discusses some of her unique ideas and applications of traditional art to interior design.

Dubai Falcon Project

Nausheen visited Dubai in February to paint a Falcon for the Dubai Falcon Project. Displayed in front of the Shangrila Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road, Nausheen's Falcon will be auctioned by Christie's. Bait / Beit / Biet Al Sadu - Kuwait

February 12th through the 26th, the Prince's School of Traditional Arts held a workshop and an exhibition of the school's work in Kuwait. The workshops were held in conjunction with Prince Charles' Gulf Tour and were hosted at the Bait Al Sadu / Biet Al Sadu / Beit Al Sadu in Kuwait City. Sheikha Altaf Salem A. al Sabah was the hostess, and the workshop and exhibition was part of her plan to revive the old and traditional arts in Kuwait.

Nausheen was present as one of the members of the Prince's School of Traditional Arts, and taught a workshop in Textiles- Pattern, Colour, and Texture. In addition, she helped co-ordinate the event and briefed Prince Charles on the workshop's Performance.
